Jamie Lynn, younger sister of pop singer Britney Spears, was in danger of losing her baby in the delivery room when she gave birth recently.

Contactmusic.com reports that a tabloid newspaper reported that doctors had to perform a caesarean on 17-year-old Lynn when they realised that she and the baby girl could have bled to death. She was diagnosed with marginal placenta previa, which could have been fatal since a part of the placenta extends to the mother's cervix.

An insider said: "Jamie Lynn was sick with worry. It was a lot for a 17-year-old to handle."

6. Burying Brian: TV2’s new black comedy premieres on Wednesday at 8.30pm. Anything that has Shane Cortese with a bong sticking out of his neck has to be good.

Britney Spears is working on a new album and has reportedly been in the studio laying down some tracks. According to UsMagazine.com, she's teaming with vocal producer and co-writer Jim Beanz, who has collaborated with Timbaland and linked up with Spears on her last album, Blackout. Things seem to be going well for the troubled pop star. Beanz said, "Everyone has personal stuff, but a true professional doesn't bring it into the studio. Britney is amazing."

Meanwhile, Spears has been in Louisiana, spending time with her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, who just had a baby.

Spears recently shot a video for her next single, "Radar," which finds her looking for a guy she met at a club.

As of now, Spears' father is still in charge of her legal affairs, but the issue is scheduled to be reviewed in a Los Angeles court on July 31st.

Prosecutors are refusing to pursue the case where a paparazzo pressed charges against Britney Spears after she ran over his foot with her car last year, saying the paparazzo himself was to blame for any injury.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley's office reviewed a videotape and photos of the incident, which don't show the photographer being hit. The report also describes a chaotic scene surrounding Spears, with photographers on all sides of her car and "a lot of noise and confusion.“

Doria Biddle, 38, walked Collin, her long-haired dachshund, two blocks from her home to the West Hollywood park where couples were being married Tuesday.

"He already tried to eat somebody's wedding cake," she said.

Noting that she is a single lesbian, Biddle said, "I thought it would be fun to stand here looking jilted and heartbroken."

"I'm single, so it's not even a pipe dream at this point," she said. "I hope people don't rush into it because of this. We don't need any more Britney Spears weddings."

Britney Spears' dad retains control over the singer's financial and personal matters, a Los Angeles court has ruled.

The court has rejected Britney's latest appeal to overturn the conservatorship awarded to her father, Jamie Spears, in February. Jamie was given control of Brit's private affairs after the troubled pop star was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Jamie has since quit his job as a caterer to oversee his daughter's finances and other matters--a role he shares with court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet.

Jamie's conservatorship appointment was recently extended until July 31. Britney has challenged this, but a California appellate court denied the appeal, saying the motion was not filed correctly from a procedural standpoint.

Adnan Ghalib has revealed that he's taking a break from his LA paparazzi from being a photographer because he’s received several threats since splitting from Britney Spears.

The pap is alleged to have been trying to auction a sex tape of him and Brit, 26.

But rumour has brought him a lot of unwanted attention.

‘I have had calls about it from all over the world. In light of the constant calls about the sex tape and threats, I’m taking a break from the industry and keeping a low profile,’ he says.

In April, it was reported that Adnan, 36, was stabbed in the arm - claims that were never verified by police records.

‘Yes, I was injured by an attacker,’ he confirms. ‘This is still being investigated. I can’t say much about that cowardly attack other than a) you better come a lot stronger than that if you want to make a point, and b) most will be surprised by those behind it. Very Wizard Of Oz-ish.’

Rumours that Britney Spears is pregnant have been stubbed out, literally, after she was photographed indulging on a cigarette.

The pop wreck has been the target of baby rumours after being snapped on numerous occasions with a round tummy.

However, the singer ended speculation after she was snapped puffing on a cigarette. She has also been enjoying vigorous sessions at her gym.

Spears has two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one.

Troubled pop star Britney Spears is still incapable of making decisions for herself, the Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner reviewing her case has ruled. The 26-year-old singer's court-appointed attorney, Samuel Ingham, and attorneys for the pop star's father and conservator, Jamie Spears, spent 90 minutes in Commissioner Reva Goetz' chambers, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Ingham told the court his client's medical condition is 'fluid' because her treatment is changing. The 'Toxic' singer's probate case is slated to go to trial July 31, but her attorney said that it could be 'harmful' for her to participate.

However, after another long afternoon in the courtroom, during which the singer's medical and psychological condition were reviewed in length, the commissioner ruled that Britney's health continues to be 'somewhat tenuous' and that she is still incapable of making decisions for herself.

Britney Spears is reportedly planning a comeback concert in Las Vegas in an effort to put her troubled period behind her once and for all.

According to the News of the World, the singer is planning a one-off gig at the city’s Palms Hotel And Casino at the end of year, possibly followed by a series of other high profile gigs in 2009.

Britney’s 2007 album ‘Blackout’ was supposed to launch her career comeback last autumn after she took two years out to give birth to sons Sean and Jayden. However, her accompanying live performances - such as on the MTV Video Music Awards - were panned as amateur and clumsy.

However, a source told the newspaper that won’t be the case now that Britney is more accepting of professional advice following her hospitalisation earlier this year: “The concert will be one to top them all - a spectacle.

“It will have jaw-dropping lights, amazing costumes and a performance from Britney to roll back the years.

“There’s a [lot of money] on offer but the onus is on Brit to put in a top show.

“Britney is finally getting her life - and career - back on track and the whole world will see the evidence when she steps on that stage.”
